Currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Science and Engineering (FoSE), University of Nottingham Ningbo China. Led international and national funded R&D projects in IoT, 4G/5G, wireless mesh, QoS, location-based and intelligent systems. 2020-2021, headed Digital Transformation research and IoT initiatives for ACE customers in Pulp and Paper, Palm Oil, Specialty Cellulose, Viscose Fibre and Integrated Energy industries. 2015-2020, led IoT Indoor Positioning, Navigation and Tracking products and solutions in MIMOS using multi-modal WiFi, BLE, GPS & sensor fusion techniques. Supported IR4.0 transformation for local SMEs especially with track & trace technologies. Developed Malaysia's first homegrown IR-UWB 3D location tracking system with ~10cm accuracy. 2017-2020, led ASEAN IVO Japan-funded IoT Smart Health with Location Tracking project. 2010-2015, led wireless mesh networking R&D (partially funded by Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation). Developed outdoor Multi-radio Surveillance WiFi-mesh router integrated with video analytics applications. 2006-2010 Principal Research Scientist, ARC, British Telecom (BT) Innovate & Design, Broadband Wireless Access research group supporting BT strategies on WiFi/WiMAX/LTE coverage & capacity, mobility, coexistence and convergence. 2008-2010, work package leader, EU ICT FP7 Carrier-Grade Wireless Mesh Network for triple-play services. 2003-2006, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, Multimedia University. Led projects funded by Panasonic R&D Centre in Next-Gen Computer Telephony and Ubiquitous Computing. 2002-2003, VoIP product specialist in Unified Communications Sdn Bhd. 1999-2002, principal researcher in Brokering Open Network Differentiated Services project funded by Fujitsu Telecommunications Europe Ltd. 2001, selected as a member of UK@COMDEX team at Las Vegas and presented a futuristic Multi-Agent QoS brokering system prototype. 1997-98 researcher in a European EPSRC project pioneering in Mobile Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) QoS network modeling. Received MSc(electronics) in 1998 and PhD(computer networks) in 2002 from the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Queen's University of Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK. Filed 32 patents (17 granted) in Malaysia and internationally. Published over 70 papers in journals, conferences and book chapters. Guest editor for IEEE Commag, IET Network, Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Humanized Computing.

Topics include but not limited to Intelligent IoT Sensing, AIoT, IoT in 5/6G, IoT applications in various industry verticals in China. Full scholarships can be arranged.
