Dr Jan Jozwik

Jan is Assistant Professor in Economics at the University of Nottingham, Ningbo China. He is also a member of the Centre for Decision Research and Experimental Economics (CeDEx) China. Jan completed his undergraduate education at the University of Essex, which included study abroad periods of one semester at the University of Utah (Salt Lake City, USA) and of one academic year at Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona, Spain). Subsequently, Jan obtained his M.Phil. and D.Phil. in Economics from the University of Oxford.

I am currently module convenor for the postgraduate course ECON4056 Applied Behavioural Economics.

During my doctoral studies I also held teaching fellowships at the University of Oxford, where I delivered seminars for final-year undergraduate modules in game theory and econometrics, and at the University of Birmingham, where I convened modules at postgraduate level in game theory, and at undergraduate level in game theory, development economics and experimental economics.

My main research interests lie in the area of behavioral and experimental economics, and development economics. I am particularly interested in studying social preferences and social comparisons in the context of cooperative behaviour, as well as in behavioural factors limiting adoption of new agricultural technologies.
