N2 - These days, since energy shortage and environment deterioration, distributed generators (DGs) have attracted more attention than in the past. And DGs are often connected to a grid by power inverters. The concept of virtual synchronous generator (VSG), which is used to control inverters to behave like a real synchronous generator (SG), is a novel control methods. In this paper, mathematical model of SG is described, and then the model of VSG is established. Finally, VSG is confirmed and verified through simulation software. It is suggested that VSG control can provide inertia support for the system.
