Abstract
This paper presents results from an arc fault demonstration rig which have been used to demonstrate that the arc fault characteristics of arc voltage, arc current and arc power can be predicted using a model based on the work of Zeller. The verification of this model is important as it can now be included in simulations of complex power systems to aid with the development of robust arc fault detection and location strategies.
