The dark regions of biomedical images may play as an important role as the bright regions. The enhanced details in the dark regions of biomedical images simultaneously maintain the quality of the rest of the images and reveal more information for doctors and surgeons in medical procedures. This paper proposes a fast method to adaptively enhance the details in the dark regions of biomedical images, including X-rays, video frames of laparoscopy in minimally invasive surgery (MIS).",
