Research output: Chapter in Book/Conference proceedingBook Chapterpeer-review

Abstract

Media convergence is playing a vital role in the transformation of journalism practice worldwide, changing the process of news production and dissemination, and the way audiences consume the news and the way in which they can participate in the public discourse. Developments in digital media, as a result of technological convergence, are crucially imperative because they are becoming a keystone of contemporary information societies and journalism. Drawing on the framework of media convergence, hence this study aims to analyse the impact of media convergence on journalists’ routine work in Pakistan’s mainstream news media, and how technology is reshaping journalists’ practices in the country. To accomplish this aim, this study uses the qualitative methods of document review and in-depth interviews and offers a thematic analysis of the qualitative data.
