abstract = "In this work an optimized fuzzy logic control strategy for Hybrid Electric Vehicle energy management is proposed. The dynamic programming algorithm is applied to obtain the optimal power distribution between engine and motor for a given driving cycle. The dynamic programming solution is also utilized for the design of the fuzzy control strategy and acts as benchmarks for comparison. The proposed strategy is based on the driving conditions; therefore, less relies on the artificial experience. The simulation results indicate that the proposed strategy can further improve the fuel efficiency compared with the conventional control strategy.",
