Research output: Chapter in Book/Conference proceedingBook Chapterpeer-review

Abstract

The introduction reviews extant research on transmedia, with a focus on outlining definitions of the storytelling practice, as well as highlighting the main theoretical and industrial concerns of transmedia practices. The introduction describes the structure of the book focusing on the interplay between top-down and bottom-up transmedia practices. Top-down practices include government- and industry-driven practices and bottom-up focus on grassroots convergence, transcultural dialogue facilitated by transmedia activism among countries and communities from the region, and transmedia as a framework facilitating inclusiveness, formal and informal learning.
