title = "Optimal hole coverage in the presence of dumb node in wireless sensor networks",
abstract = "Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are energy and resource constraint network. So, activation of optimum number of sensor nodes in a WSN is always desirable to increase lifetime of the network. Sometimes, due to adverse environmental conditions, sensor nodes may exsibit dumb behavior. A dumb sensor node can continue its sensing operation but cannot communicate due to impairements for the adverse environmental conditions. The sensor nodes behave normally after resumption of favourable environmental condition. Dumb behavior of the sensor nodes arises communication hole (s) in the network, which creates, increase, or decrease dynamivcally. Creation of hole (s) may lead to data loss and degrade network performance. In such a scenario, to resume network performance, we peoposed Dynamic Hole Coverage for Dumb Node (DHCDN) scheme to mitigate the effects of dumb nodes from the WSN by activating optimum number of sleeping sensor nodes in the network.",
