Abstract

Shenzhen’s remarkable transformation from a humble fishing village cluster to a global technological and economic powerhouse represents China’s rapid development, particularly after the opening up era (Du, The Shenzhen experiment: the story of China’s instant city, Harvard University Press, Cambridge, 2020). Situated in the southern part of China, Shenzhen’s rise is a testament to the nation’s strategic vision and commitment to progress (Zacharias and Tang, Prog Plan 73:209–249, 2010).
