Abstract
This paper studied the tensile behavior of the highly oriented ethylene copolymer prepared at different draw ratios and measured orientation degree and crystallinity of the oriented material with X-ray diffractometer or wide angle X-ray diffractometer. The crystallinity of the oriented polyethylene (PE) increased obviously with the draw ratio and die temperature. This fact confirms that there appears not only a crystallization process induced by stress, but also a secondary re-crystallization induced by temperature during the preparation of the highly oriented PE material.
