Abstract

This study presents an in-depth analysis of the torque ripple compensation methods, comparing current har-monics injection (CHI) in d-axis, q-axis, and dq-axes including instant Maximum Torque Per Ampere and Direct Flux-and-Torque Control, which targets the minimum loss for an interior Permanent Magnet synchronous motor. The performance of different CHIs has been evaluated by finite element simulations, highlighting the importance of the selection of the CHI technique for torque ripple compensation considering minimum total loss.
