Dr. Kingsley E. Dogah joined the Nottingham University Business School (NUBS), China as an Assistant Professor of Economics in September 2023. Before joining NUBS, he worked as an assistant professor at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) and was an Honorary Lecturer at University of Liverpool. Dr. Dogah has also formerly worked as Research Analyst at The Economist Group within the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), in Singapore after completion of his Ph.D. in Economics degree. His research interest is in applied macroeconomics with a special focus on the intersection of energy and environmental economics (including sustainability development), energy transition economics  and energy poverty, climate economics, emerging markets, and applied macroeconomics (including financial and development economics). Kingsley's research outputs are published in reputable journals including Energy Economics, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Journal of Environmental Economics, Energy Research and Social Sciences, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, and Economic Modelling. Dr. Dogah is currently an Associate Editor for the African Review of Economics and Finance journal.

Dr. Dogah is interested in supervising and mentoring PhDs with interest in the areas of energy and environmental economics, energy transition economics and climate policy risks, energy poverty and economic complexity, emerging markets/development economics, and applied macroeconomics.

Research Interests

Kingsley's research can be positioned within the broader streams of empirical energy economics and applied macroeconomics. Specifically, his current research falls into three streams: Energy and Environmental Economics; Climate Policy Risks and Energy Transition Economics; and Emerging markets/Development Economics.
